Summer Updates

We're hoping y'all are enjoying the summer season, whether it's in this Texas heat or escaping to adventure with your loved ones. The countdown to the start of school officially started around my house, but we're not ready to relinquish our summertime just yet!

In neighborhood news, all members should have received their 2026 directory last month. If you didn't find one in your mailbox, let me know. A HUGE thank you goes to Lisa Dunn for pouring so much time and energy into that project - I love the way it connects us. We appreciate you!

Thank you for completing the Google Form sent out about curb address numbers. We're excited to hire Dallas Curb Painting & Parking Lot Striping. Doug has been so helpful and easy to work with through this process, and he's looking foward to starting in the next couple of weeks. If you'd like to see a sample of his work, swing by 1003 Blue Ridge Place and take a look. We definitely got a glow up! Doug has a list of WPA members with their address number preferences and anticipates it will take him 1-2 weeks to work through our community completely. He does not like to knock on doors, so please watch your socials and emails for an update on the exact start date in order to make arrangements to leave space open in front of your home for him to work. If you requested more than one address number location, he will bill you separately. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

The WPA Beautification Committee spun up a Yard of the Month designation - congrats to The Browns of 1007 Blue Ridge Place on being our first award recipient! The next winner will be announced on August 1st. We're so grateful to all our neighbors who make this a beautiful place to live, especially in this heat, it's no easy task to keep that grass green and the flowers popping! If you'd like to join the committee or have a suggestion for a yard that deserves a tip of the hat, reach out to Coleen Wright. Coleen is always finding wonderful ways to serve our community so well, and this new program is no different - thank you, Coleen!

In broader Richardson community news, our beloved Richardson Public Library is anticipated to reopen this September - the temporary location on 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd is still available for all summer activities! Also, Council Member Dan Barrios announced his resignation from the Richardson City Council to pursue the race for House District 32. We thank all our council members for their service!

SAVE THE DATE FOR OUR NEXT WPA COMMUNITY EVENT -

LABOR DAY CELEBRATION ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th

We can't wait to catch up with you!
