FIESTA + Spring Updates

Summer is inching closer, and WPA has our Fiesta Event on the horizon - Sunday, May 31st from 4:00-6:00 on Shenandoah. We're looking forward to seeing who takes best in show at our neighborhood contest for best guacamole, salsa, and margaritas again - prizes awarded! Do you make the best?! Text Kathryn at 214-697-7416 to enter. WPA will provide lemonade, water, and contest entry eats and treats to share. Neighbors: bring an app or dessert to share, chairs, and anything extra you'd like to drink for you and your family. We'll, also, have 2026 directories for all WPA members available for pick up and Sonny Bryan coupons for anyone who signed up for membership before the deadline. We're looking forward to celebrating summer with you and your crew - hope you can join us!

We kicked off our 2026 events at our Egg Hunt + Annual Meeting combo - a HUGE thank you to the Cirksenas, Conrads, and Urans for hosting. It's always so fun to see the littles light up at the sight of the Easter bunny and ALL the eggs! We couldn't pull off these events without neighborhood support - thank you to everyone who donated eggs, helped pass out flyers, and hid treats with the Easter Bunny Sunday morning. This neighborhood is the BEST because of YOU!

At our Annual Meeting we voted in our new Board and Chairs - please help me in welcoming Diana Pardue as Vice-President, Scott Dunn as Treasurer, Jackie Conrad as Secertary, Lupe & Al Cano as our Safety Chairs, Coleen Wright as our Communication & Beautification Chair, Kristen Dirks as our Welcoming Chair, The Gieses as our Membership Chairs, and Lisa Dunn as our Directory Chair. I'm jumping in as President and dedicated to keeping the momentum that Coleen so beautifully created over her time in office. The Canos, Cirksenas, Conrads, Gieses, Groves, Hustons, Pardues, Urans, Wahlers, Jenny Mizutowicz & Cameron Poth, and Leslie Thornton have been so gracious to offer to help host events this year. Head to our Events page on the website to see what we have in store for the year ahead, and if you'd like to jump on the board to help, please don't hesitate to reach out - we'd love to have you!

Neighborhood Updates: The construction on Waterview has officially WRAPPED - can I get a hallelujah?! We have a beautiful new roadway and fresh bike and turn lanes. We are so grateful! At our annual meeting, we voted to pull from reserves to cover painting curb address numbers for all 2026 WPA Members, and now that construction is completed, we can move forward with this project. WPA will cover one address number/membership household. If you'd like more done, please reach out to me, and I can get pricing over to you - we will not have anyone knocking on doors to collect payment this time around.

We have so many new families moving into the neighborhood this season, and we're so excited to welcome everyone, but please help me in a special welcome to the Huston Family who moved onto Cumberland this May. Below you'll find a flyer introducing their son, Mason, with ways we can support them as they transition to our neighborhood. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

As we head into the the summer season with the kids roaming the neighborhood and our neighbors more frequently in and out of town, I'm so grateful to live in a place where the community watches out for one another. Wishing each and every one of you a peaceful, adventurous summer!
